Iqaluit, NU

A candid photo of an Iqalummiuq with her qimmiit (Inuit sled dogs). While walking along the shore of Iqaluit I saw them out on Frobisher Bay preparing for a sled ride across the tundra. One of the most surprising things I learned during my time in Iqaluit is that Frobisher Bay has among the highest tides in the world, varying approximately 7-11 meters per day. It was awe-inspiring to witness what seemed like the earth itself rising and lowering with the tides, leaving rocky snow formations in its wake.
