Peggy's Point Lighthouse

A beacon of Atlantic Canada and one of the most recognizable lighthouses in the world, Peggy's Point Lighthouse continues to operate as a navigational aid for vessels traversing the Atlantic Ocean. First lit in 1915, the lighthouse has been serving Peggys Cove—a small community southwest of Halifax—for over a century. Until 2009, the lower level of was home to the village post office which branded each letter with a mark of the lighthouse.
